Venue ratings methodology
Which venues
The list starts from the hospitality groups' own sites (hwoodgroup.com, sbe.com, taogroup.com), the Michelin Guide, Eater LA, The Infatuation, Time Out and city and local guides. Each venue was then checked against Yelp, OpenTable and news reports for closures. The result: 80 open venues, 48 in West Hollywood and 32 in Beverly Hills.
Ratings
- Yelp figures come from Yelp page titles and search snippets.
- Google figures come from public mirrors of Google Places data (for example foodindex.us, Restaurant Guru, Wanderlog, Sluurpy, Postcard and Apple Maps), not from Google Maps directly.
- Where sources disagreed, the lower review count was used and noted. Where the attribution was doubtful, the field was left blank.
- No number was estimated.
Blended score
- The blended score is the plain average of the Google and Yelp ratings that could be confirmed (both are 1 to 5 stars).
- Only venues with 100 or more combined reviews are ranked. Low-sample and single-source venues are flagged and listed separately.
Reviews and forum reads
Forum sentiment comes from Reddit threads (r/FoodLosAngeles, r/AskLosAngeles, r/LosAngeles, r/finedining, r/beverlyhills and others). Where no real thread exists, the page says so and cites a critic instead. Safety allegations in threads are summarised neutrally and kept out of reviews. No quotes are invented.
Limits
Ratings move every day. Treat every figure as a snapshot from October 22, 2026, and check with the venue before you go.
